Overlea Students Perform in Fall Play

Overlea High School’s fall play, “Happily Ever Once Upon” takes place on December 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

“The setting takes place in a royal kingdom,” said Dayziah Gray (’17). “Fairytale characters get caught in a lot of lies and learn that telling the truth is mandatory.”

Mrs. Brown directs Overlea’s plays. In the winter they have a regular play and in the spring they have a musical. She is very hardworking, and this drives her to direct this play on her own. She had certain intentions with this piece in particular

“When I [direct] a play, I try to get a special message across,” said Ms. Brown. “This play is enjoyable and full of laughter”

Putting a player together takes a lot of hard work. This includes working on memorizing lines and working on acting techniques.

“Rehearsals can differ and consist of trying to make a new person, “said Kyah Felton. “ When rehearsing, you’re not yourself but someone else”

If you want to see “Happily Ever Once Upon” you can go to Overlea High School, December 3rd, 4th, and 5th at 7 p.m. Ticket prices are $5 for students and $7 for adults.
